Synthonia hosted Billingham Town for this Easter Monday derby match and ran out 3-1 winners.

Synners opened the scoring within 28 seconds of the start of the game with a ball into the box from the left seeing Declan Brown challenge a defender before the ball fell to LEWIS PORRITT to drill home into the bottom right corner of the net from close range.

A chance for Town saw Lucas Pilling try a shot from distance which was straight at Synners keeper Sam Taylor. Synthonia then attacked with Matty Willshaw shooting straight at Town keeper Matthew Pattison.

The game continued to ebb and flow with Taylor making a smart save from a shot, Porritt then made some good work on the right and his cross was cleared as far as Jack Winstanley who shot over the cross-bar.

Synthonia doubled their advantage in the 25th minute when Winstanley's free-kick from the left was sent into the box where Jonny Peacock flicked the ball on for DECLAN BROWN who controled the ball before turning and firing in.

Both sides had chances before the break, but Synners went in at half-time with the two goal lead.

Half-time: Synners 2, Billingham Town 0

An early chance after the re-start saw Synners come close when Peacock's corner from the left saw an effort at the back post which went just wide. Town then advanced and pulled a goal back with a penalty kick after Alfie Turnbull ran into Jamie McLeod in the box; MCKENZIE DICICCIO converting from the spot in the 50th minute.

Synthonia came close to regaining the two-goal advantage when Peacock's shot from distance saw Pattison push the ball onto the bar. Then Porritt and Ash Lavan combined on the right with the latter seeing his cross into the box heading into the goal and Pattison clawed the ball away, Craig Hutchinson latched onto the loose ball but could only shoot wide.

After a Town shot went over the bar, Synners were denied by the bar again when Alfie Simpson sent in a ball into the box where Brown saw his header come back off the frame of the goal. Then from a Luke Hogan right wing corner, Ash Lavan shot just an inch over the cross-bar.

A third time Synthonia found the frame of the goal as Porritt intercepted a Town ball out of defence and played to Willshaw who did well to make space for a shot which cannonned against the right hand post.

Synners made sure of the points with a third goal in the 92nd minute with Winstanley latching onto a clearance from the keeper and squeezing the ball to Brown on the right who teed up LEWIS PORRITT, he lifted the ball over Pattison and into the net for his second of the game.
