Billingham made the trip to Esh Winning and lost out in a 3-1 defeat.

An early chance for the home side saw them advance along the left where a cross into the box resulted in a header wide of the target. This was followed by a loose ball out of defence from Synners seeing a shot wide of the right hand post.

Synthonia advanced with Matty Willshaw on the right pulling a ball back for Jack Winstanley who shot wide of the near post. The resulting corner was played short to Winstanley who saw his deflected shot tipped over the bar by Esh keeper Harry Alderson.

A free-kick wide left for Esh Winning saw the ball into the box and a header just wide. They were soon ahead though when, in the 24th minute, they broke quickly and CHARLIE DAWSON played a ball left and received the ball back to finish well past Billingham keeper Ollie Johnson.

Synners threatened with Ash Lavan threading a ball through for Willshaw to the right of goal who brought a save out of Alderson. A leveller came in the 33rd minute with Lavan sending a ball behind the Esh defence for Carl Williams who played to MATTY WILLSHAW with the striker checking a defender before placing a shot past Alderson and in.

Billingham had chances to go in front with Williams seeing a shot deflect wide then from the corner McKellen Lines was denied when his shot was parried wide by the keeper.

It would be the home side who went in front going into the break when in the 5th minute of added-on time, a corner from the right dropped for AARON JACKSON in front of goal and he made no mistake with his shot into the net.

Half-time: Esh Winning 2, Synners 1

Billingham looked for the equaliser after the restart with WIlliams shooting from the left only to be denied by Alderson with a good block. Williams again saw sight of goal when he received a long ball from Alfie Simpson; Alderson again coming out on top with a smart save.

Esh Winning threatened with Dawson advancing into the box from the left and shooting inches over the right angle of the bar. They extended their lead though in the 56th minute with JOE BATES releasing a teammate on the right and then receiving the ball back before finishing well with his shot from just inside the penalty area.

Chances were kept to a minimum after the goal with a heavy pitch maybe being a factor for that. WInstanley had a shot wide for Synners and Esh Winning were denied by a Simpson save, but the hosts saw the game out to take the points.
