Synthonia made the trip up to Ryton & Crawcrook Albion and had to settle for a share of the points in a 1-1 draw.

Early chances saw a Matty Willshaw shot go over for Billingham and then a Willshaw shot from the right in the box being blocked by a Ryton defender.

A Joe Scaife-Wheatley ball into the box resulted in Craig Hutchinson bringing a good block out of home keeper Brogan Colquhoun. Synners continued to have the upper hand and opened the scoring in the 26th minute when Hutchinson laid the ball off for DECLAN BROWN who sent in a great shot from 25 yards out which left the keeper no chance.

The home side came back at Synners and a shot on goal needed a save from keeper Sam Taylor. Billingham responded with Scaife-Wheatley having a shot deflect off a defender with Colquhoun seeing the ball wide. Willshaw then came close again before the break with a shot from the right in the box going just wide of the near post.

Half-time: Ryton & Crawcrook Albion 0, Synners 1

Ryton & Crawcrook were awarded a penalty kick soon after the re-start after Dario De Santosco went down after a seemingly innocuous challenge from Tyler Miley; AARON COSTELLO stepped up to convert the spot-kick in the 49th minute.

Ryton threatened again as they looked to capitalise on a short back pass from Jamie Davis, with Taylor bringing down Rhys McLeod outside the penalty area; a yellow card ensued for the keeper with Scaife-Wheatley tracking back to cover off the goal.

A couple of free-kicks on goal from the hosts were dealt with by the Billingham defence and then a couple of defensive blocks denied them as Albion created more chances.

Taylor made another smart stop to deny Ryton before Billingham threatened with Willshaw seeing a shot just wide from a shot from outside the box.

Synthonia finished the game strong as Hutchinson brought a save out of the keeper with a long range shot then the striker had a shot deflect straight into the arms of Colquhoun, but they were reduced to ten men in the 92nd minute when Brown received a second yellow, again Synners will feel agrieved as Dos Santosco and Brown both went for a 50-50 ball.
